About This Spot

Stepping into Double Dragon feels like finding a quiet corner of genuine warmth tucked away just off the bustling streets of Santa Fe. This unassuming Chinese restaurant offers a calm and comfortable refuge where the pace slows down enough to savor both the flavors and the moment. It’s the kind of place where attentive service flows naturally, and the space itself invites a gentle conversation over the hum of content diners.

The atmosphere leans into simplicity and care — clean lines, soft lighting, and a welcoming ease that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re settling in for a leisurely lunch or an early dinner, the rhythm here is unhurried yet alive with quiet energy, a subtle reflection of the neighborhood’s laid-back charm.

The menu quietly celebrates the rich, authentic traditions of Chinese cooking without overwhelming the senses. You might find yourself lured by silky egg drop soup, or the satisfying crunch of perfectly fried dumplings shared across the table. Dishes balance layers of spice, sweet, and savory — for example, the crisp sweetness of honey walnut shrimp or the comforting warmth of hot and sour soup can spark a familiar sense of comfort, yet with fresh, nuanced flavors that reveal themselves slowly.

Double Dragon’s kitchen has a thoughtful approach to both classic and diet-conscious options, offering everything from hearty broccoli and chicken to delicately spiced cumin beef that carries the unmistakable touch of Sichuan roots. Portion sizes feel mindful — generous enough to share but measured to respect both appetite and occasion.

What lingers most beyond the food is the genuine care woven throughout the experience. Waitstaff move with quiet attentiveness, catching the little things — whether it’s a dish that needs correcting or a moment to check in with a guest. This level of thoughtfulness fosters a sense of connection that goes well beyond filling plates.

In a city known for artistry and authenticity, Double Dragon stands as a humble but treasured doorway to Chinese flavors made with care — a local neighborhood spot that invites you to pause, taste, and enjoy a more grounded kind of joy.

Food was Excellent, customer service was awesome. It's so quiet and very clean. My waitress even noticed that they made the wrong plate for me I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp, the kitchen accidentally made me the Kung Pao Chicken, my waitress immediately took it back and brought the right plate!

The service was great and the food yummy. I had the walnut shrimp. It had Big meaty shrimp with the perfect balance of sweet, savory, crunchy, creaminess. Gen tso chicken was great with the perfect amount of sauce with nice pieces of chicken. Dumplings were also a favorite

We happened upon this little restaurant while looking for lunch. It turned out to be a good find! The food was very tasty and came quickly. The portions are also good sizes. We would definitely go back there!
